School might be out for the summer but there’s still plenty to learn

We’ve released our new range of products and want to raise awareness about climate change and how we can help your customers make a positive difference to the planet.

The average household in the UK produces more than a tonne of food and packaging waste every year. That is a staggering total of 31 million tonnes per year, equivalent to the weight of three and a half million double-decker buses, which if you lined them up end to end, would go around the world two and a half times! Our new lunchbox means no individually wrapped snacks and much less waste as you are bringing food from home, cutting waste from every angle.

The plastic we use is recyclable as is the wooden top, produced using wood sourced from FSC certified sustainably managed forests. The lunchbox comes with inserts to keep your food separate, a knife, fork and spoon and the lid doubles as a plate. The top is also customisable.

Plastic water bottles too are one of the greatest contributors the overflowing landfills and ocean pollution. 35.8 million plastic bottles are used every day, and 16 million of those don’t make it to recycling, and that is just in the UK. Globally, it is estimated that over 100 million marine animals are killed each year by plastic waste.

With this in mind we have designed a water bottle manufactured from biodegradable corn starch. When they come to the end of their useful life, they can be composted along with the garden waste.

Think: Refill, not landfill.

Your customer can add any image they wish to the bottle and make it uniquely theirs.

We’re also releasing a stainless-steel bottle for hot drinks. Completely reusable and recyclable, take it with you to your local coffee shop and avoid using the single use take away cups that make a huge contribution to what we collectively throw away each day.

Our mission is to ensure that we are being as environmentally responsible as possible. All our wooden products are FSC approved, sustainably sourced and created from wood grown in managed forests. As part of our friends and family range this launch includes our new stand up wooden shapes, letters, numbers and words.

Forests cover about 30 percent of the world’s land mass, but they are disappearing at an alarming rate. Between 1990 and 2016, the world lost 502,000 square miles (1.3 million square kilometers) of forest, an area larger than South Africa.

By choosing to use responsibly sourced material we’re not only looking after the trees but also the wildlife habitats and watercourses where they grow. All the way down the food chain we’re taking care of the planet and helping your customers to do the same.

We’re always looking for creative ways to make our products environmentally friendly and we’re not the only ones. All over the world people are coming up with more and more innovative ways to recycle and repurpose plastic and other materials. Reusable textiles for bags and clothing is just one example.

In September we’ll be launching our own range of reusable bags made from 100 cellulose fibre a responsibly sourced, sustainable material.

We hope you’ll join us on this environmental journey and help tackle climate change and make the world a cleaner and better place to live.
